I am truly grateful for your invite to the Dinner with Industry event, it was my pleasure to attend such a worthwhile event in which I think both the students and the employers found really insightful. It was also really enjoyable to be there andcontinue the evening at Elements - ow yes!

As a BBA Management student I found the event very useful and the insight to Entreprise Rent a Car made me to want apply for a job.

Intro Event!

I think I will be speaking for everyone when I say that the night was an astounding success! Never mind the seats, there were people sitting on the floor, up the aisles and all around the back – thank you to those who stuck around!

I hope you will ignore the lack of suitable equipment for the “snacks” -  the delicious cheese and lovely wine, we thought it would be more exciting if our potential members (YOU!) could break the cheese off in chunks and gobble it down with a glass of wine – a somewhat unconventional ice breaker! Hope you agree that this was a very clever idea. :)

On a more serious note – we would like to say thank you to our guest speakers, Norman Rea and Edwin. We are very grateful that they could come and join us to help explain our ambition and aim for this society, as well as give you an insight into one of our biggest events, the L’Oreal Challenge.

To reiterate some important messages from Monday:

- We believe that variety is the spice of life and so do not like to pigeon hole ourselves or anybody else, therefore this truly is a society for all degrees and all years.

- We are not a Management School based society, and definitely not a recycling society as the name to some may suggest! (But we do believe in recycling..! :))

- Some of our corporate investors include: the BIG 4 Accountancy Firms ( PwC, E&Y, Deloitte and KPMG), Rolls-Royce, L’Oreal, Unilever, Molson Coors, and NPower to name a few…so as you see these encompass a variety of industries from Finance to Breweries!..

It is important to get involved if you are serious about your career path, and developing key contacts over a glass of wine or a cup of tea really is one of the best ways of doing it. We sow the seeds, you reap the benefits. A perfect opportunity to “date around” with no repercussions!
